GramercyLabs and General Assembly present: Timothy Fitz

Cost: Free. Complementary wine and snacks will be served.

Tuesday, August 16th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm

GramercyLabs (Snooth, Lot18, Popdust, and Fameball) and General Assembly once again present a monthly speaker series, showcasing the latest in New York technology and entrepreneurship, conceived to introduce new concepts and inspire great discussion.

For most products, shipping a new version of code is an unusual, scary and painful experience. Worse still is the dreaded regression, when shipping a new version of code requires software heroics to fix an unanticipated edge case in the new code paths. Deployment does not have to be unusual, scary or painful. Counter-intuitively, the solution is to ship more frequently! Continous Deployment takes Continuous Integration to the next logical step: deploying early and often.

Timothy Fitz is the CTO of Canvas Networks. He previously was a Technical Lead at IMVU Inc. He is commonly known for bringing the practice of Continuous Deployment to the attention of the software development community. He is an author and speaker on software development topics, focusing on Lean Startup theory and practices.
